A sharper cricket net session in three phases
Turn an unfocused net into a purposeful session with movement, one clear batting objective and a pressure finish.
A productive net does not need to be long. It needs a purpose for each block, enough recovery to protect technique and a finish that asks you to make decisions under pressure.
Arrive ready to move
Begin away from the crease. Use easy movement, controlled bodyweight patterns and a few progressive shadow swings before facing a ball. Build intensity gradually; the aim is to feel prepared, not tired.
- Easy movement and mobility
- Progressive shadow swings
- A few low-intensity throwdowns
Give the middle one job
Choose one outcome for the main block: leaving well, playing late, finding a scoring zone or controlling a specific delivery. Keep the field and score in mind so every repetition has context.
- Name the skill before the first ball
- Reset your stance between deliveries
- Pause when technique begins to fade
Finish with consequence
Set a short chase, a wicket limit or a dot-ball target. The constraint should be simple enough to remember and realistic enough to influence shot selection. End with a brief note on what held up under pressure.
Train responsibly. Progress gradually, use a safe training area and suitable protective equipment, and stop if you feel pain. Seek qualified coaching or medical guidance when needed.
